I held the BACK and HOME button as instructed, and the Chromecast device found the remote. I then restarted the Chromecast device, and pressed the sync button again. While the method I found from Google didn't help with that (holding just the home button while replacing the batteries), I was able to do it by placing the remote face down (pressing ALL buttons) while replacing the batteries. I researched how to factory reset the remote. What else can I do?Įdit: I fixed the issue while chatting with a customer service person online. If there are batteries in the remote, that LED is on and it doesn’t work. I tried resyncing the remote by hitting the button on the Chromecast device (with the batteries removed). I tried putting new batteries in the remote. As soon as that second battery goes in the remote, that light turns on and stays on. ![]() I tried removing the batteries from the remote for a brief period and putting them back in. After a 5 minute long news video, the remote stopped working 100%. ![]() I had been using it for about 20 minutes to watch YouTube videos. So I noticed over the past few days that when I use the remote, the LED will turn on and stay on for a few seconds. I’ve had this thing for a few months now.
